I am glad and rejoice with all of you—and in the same way you must also be glad and rejoice with me. Philippians 2:17b, 18 NRSV
Retreat to your quiet place and prepare your heart and mind to allow Scripture to speak to you as you continue on your journey to joy today.
Start with Scripture. Today, read Philippians 2: 17, 18 from your favorite translation of the Bible or from the epigraph printed at the top of the chapter, page 81.
Glad and rejoice are the key words today. But how do you move from worry to serenity and on to joy? Are you in need of joy in your life today, or do you need to share your joy with someone who is hurting?
Read Chapter 12 of Reclaiming Joy. Ella describes activities that brought her joy after Lev died. What brings you joy at this point in your life?

If you lack the courage or confidence to do things alone—travel or even go to a movie or dinner—what baby steps can you take now to build your self-confidence?
Read Ella’s Lesson learned on page 87. How can you apply and adapt that lesson to your own life today as you seek to move toward joy?
What three things are you thankful for today? What moments of joy have you experienced in the last 24 hours? Take time to say, Thank you, God, for…
