You are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind…. Philippians 1:27b NRSV

Retreat to your quiet place and prepare your heart and mind to allow Scripture to speak to you as you continue on your journey to joy today.

Start with Scripture. Today, read Philippians 1:27–30 from your favorite translation of the Bible or from the epigraph printed at the top of the chapter, page 43.

What is the key word or idea do you need to hear today? Why is unity important?

On page 47 Ella writes that she told her attorney that ease of administration and elimination of every possible conflict within the family after my death are more important than lowering taxes.

Since Reclaiming Joy was published, professional advisors have reacted with surprise to this statement, some admitting that they have never discussed family unity and ease of administration with their clients. Do you need to have this conversation with your advisors?

What is the lesson that you have learned today?

What can you do now to create more joy within your family?

What three things are you thankful for today? What moments of joy have you experienced in the last 24 hours? Take time to say, Thank you, God, for…
